New obsession

I feel like I have a new baby obsession:

Nora Bentley.



Nora is my friend Scott's - and his lovely wife, Meg's - baby. Scott is my friend from high school. The gang of us used to spend entire evenings in Scott's parent's rec room watching awkwardly lighthearted guys build pyramids out of themselves (we were really advanced). And now he's a dad. Weird.

Nora is simply the cutest thing of 2009.

Finley's first cupcake

My friend Justyn's baby, Finley, turned one today. They had a sweet birthday brunch celebration.

Brian and I overslept, and recovered from mild hangovers (thanks to copious amounts of delicious sangria last night) as we raced up to Edmonds -- without a gift! -- to celebrate her special day. Just like any lonely, thoughtless, childless couple would.

Our lack of preparation and planning doesn't imply that we don't LOVE FINLEY MORE THAN ANY BABY ON THIS EARTH! She is so so so cute. I'm legitimately thankful that my kids aren't born yet so they don't have to compete.

I loved the progression of her first cupcake. (And it really seemed like she completely knew what was going on--that this celebration was for her.)

Finley update

Last night we saw Ian and Justyn and their baby (cutest baby ever?), Finley. She's 5 months old now.

I'm majorly obsessed with this baby, it's kind of ridiculous.

Little Finley

Yesterday the most adorable baby ever came to our house!

Little Finley came into the world about 7 weeks ago. Her mom is my childhood friend Justyn. And her dad is Ian, who I met when we were all living in NYC.

Babies don't normally inspire me but Finley is exceptionally adorable. Huge eyes, perfect little features, super tiny. To quote Lindsay, "she makes the Gerber baby look like a mongrol." Yeah... something like that.
